Beyond Belief

Imagine that you’ve been separated from someone you love, not by any choice of your own, but by strictures put in place by government institutions that have imposed their intractable, inflexible will on you.

Then imagine having endured this horrendous reality once, it is then imposed on you again! Once more, through no fault of your own, but because of a deliberate lack of pertinent information; information that if were made widely available, would have negated the need for continued separation from that person that you love.

So, separation, forced on you by a government institution in the UK! Separation protracted and drawn out even longer because that same government institution in the UK, and the agreements it has made with one particular ally, have led to a system of  ‘human traffic control’ that is indiscriminate, irrelevant, Orwellian, draconian, unnecessary and oppressive.

The UK has a socialist government. Socialist governments by definition advocate the creation of  immense government bureaucracies, ministries and departments. They promote massive government control in the personal, moral, private and even intimate lives of their populations!

They support total state control of trade, indutry and commerce, their scope of  “nanny state” intrusion knows no bounds. There is no aspect of human social existence that the socialist state does not believe comes under their remit. For these and many other reasons the socialist state should never, ever be allowed to take control of any country.

History is repleat with examples of these despotic failed states: Soviet Union, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Romania and a whole host of other Balkan nations. Notwithstanding the current and deeply troubled state of North Korea and the profoundly confused socialist state of China.

The socialist government of ‘New Labour’ in the UK is a sad travesty of a political party running a perfectly capable country into the ground, grinding it into the dirt with a plethora of oppressive, truly ridiculous, laughable legislation!

The ministers of ‘New Labour’ are a tenth rate gaggle of hopeless civil servants and shop stewards and union representatives who would not be able to gain any form of meaningful employment in an honest and open administration. They are a bunch of pathetic rejects being led by a delusional megalomaniac on a mission to socialist oblivion.

Everything that is messed up about the UK – every single mindless law, ridiculous policy and oppressive scheme can be traced back, directly to the government of ‘New Labour’. It is fair, right and reasonable to blame this bunch of total idiots for all of the ills aflicting this entire nation and all the woes that have spilled into all of our lives!

Living In Hope

There are various ways in which you can measure such things as success or failure. To start with a set of criteria, a consensus must be established.

It is this agreed-upon set of criteria that becomes a yardstick by which your relative failure or success can be measured.

To a 50 year old who is in prison and remains illiterate, the legal-aid lawyer representing him at his parole hearing who himself is 35 and well educated may seem the very model of success. The prisoner may well experience deep feelings of awe, resentment or exaggerated sensations of low self-esteem by a comparison to his lawyer.

These social dimensions to our perception of failure or success unfortunately overlook the very real human dimension to the story.

Had the prisoner been a white collar worker on Wall Street convicted of fraud on a grand scale, or a senior banker and far from illiterate, the lawyer may well appear to be merely a necessity, a means to gain his former freedom.

Opportunity plays a huge role in the perception of success or failure. A well educated underachiever may fare far worse in society than a motivated but far less educated individual. But perceptions of this notion of failure or success are most often not representative of the true picture. They are susceptible to the subjective distortions of the perceiver.

So how much credence should we put in these social notions of success or failure? If the evidence points toward a world of individual choices, available opportunities, and inherited predispositions then the criteria for measuring failure or success in any meaningful empirical way become themselves meaningless.

The problem with so many social stratification theories and assertions of such nebulous ideas as failure or success, is that they overlook the very real human aspect behind the nature of perception, judgement, ideology, opportunity, social justice, work ethic, education and politics.

In this respect, is the single mother on welfare, on a basic human level any more or less ‘valid’ than a Wall Street broker with a Lamborghini? Who would you save from drowning first should such a crisis present itself to you? Is an anarchist political activist any more or less ‘valid’ as a person, as a human than the Vice President?

Is the loss of an Iraqi child any less of a tragedy than that of a soldier, even though one can be dehumanized with the label of collateral damage while the other perceived as a national tragedy?

Is sexual orientation – whatever form it takes – any justification to be subject to judgement or vilification by those who do not share that particular proclivity?

This is the chronic social injustice that characterises perceptions of failure or success, of value and validity of the individual in society.

It is these perceptions that underpin the gross inequality surrounding ideas about the intrinsic value of human life! From the true repulsiveness of war to the pitiful sadness of sexual discrimination on any grounds of gender or orientation.

Humanity – we have still such a long, long way to go. Devoid of any spiritual element to our lives, it appears that we have condemned ourselves to a protracted future hell-on-Earth until we make room for a far higher purpose and consciousness.

We live in hope – perhaps hope is the only thing we do have now.

Been Down This Road

Life is wonderful as it is agonizing too, just as parents are great but they can cause untold anguish.

Having recently experienced a life changing encounter with someone, I am now in the unenviable situation of being destroyed by separation from that individual. She knows who she is!

If you are reading this, know that I committed myself to your life the day I met you. You have single handedly turned an erstwhile brilliant life into an incredible one!

I have been through countless traumatic episodes and I have always recovered my poise and been privileged to survive and look back in awe at my staggering stupidity and my resilience.

I will forever be committed to the person I love and have found. I know this is not the kind of Nietzsche’s Daughter blog that is typical – but perhaps now it is time to just let the music convey the message.

Care

Is life precious? Is fatalism a path? Is there sense in life if we are unaware of our ‘divinity’? What is our ‘divinity’? Is that the point?

If God just observes and creates and observes, what is the need for our experience of ‘life’? When all manner of faith has disappeared, what do you believe in?

Is belief necessary? Should we surrender life without fighting? Is the point to loose the fear of death and the unknown, and just leave, like taking a train?

So why do we care then? Do we care to save one another from the unknown? Or just to make the transition as comfortable as possible?

The gentle flow of energy between here and there, so therefore if compassion is tantamount to the best in human nature, then it follows that is important to care.
